Case picking involves consolidating items by the case or carton rather than by pallet to fulfil customer orders. This process requires the picker to transfer the items listed on the pick order onto a pallet, resulting in each pallet being made up of cases of multiple products or SKUs. 

Voice picking, or voice-directed picking, is a solution where workers use voice instructions through headsets to locate and pick items, providing hands-free efficiency.

Layer picking in warehouses is a method where entire layers of products are picked from a pallet rather than individual items or full pallets. This technique is used to efficiently handle large quantities of goods, especially when dealing with high-volume orders.
