Constellation’s journey began under Arcus Infrastructure Partners, and their vision to bring Europe’s leading cold stores together into one pan-European business. Their support and investment in the business has been invaluable, and has enabled Constellation to grow to the second largest cold storage provider in Europe to provide customers with an excellent service across 26 locations. Now under EQT’s ownership, customers can expect us to continue along this trajectory. EQT is committed to supporting Constellation’s ambitious growth and investment plans, fuelled by strong customer demand.

Strategic expansion  and investment in infrastructure

Constellation invests heavily in strategic expansion efforts. Earlier this year, for example, Constellation announced the opening of our new 13,000-pallet facility in Tønsberg, Norway. With EQT as a partner, we will have the capital and mandate to further accelerate our investment in new state-of-the-art infrastructure across Europe to meet the growing demands of our clients and provide them with greater flexibility and options to support their business objectives.

Continued focus on sustainability

Constellation is leading the way in decarbonising Europe’s cold storage supply chain. We have been heavily investing in energy efficiency and on-site renewable power generation, with over 6 MW installed in 2023 alone. Our strong focus on sustainability has been demonstrated by an excellent score of 99/100 points in the 2024 GRESB infrastructure sustainability benchmark. We also recently announced our support for the move to -15°C movement to reduce carbon emissions across the sector, and in February Constellation UK was shortlisted for the Sustainability Champions – Cold Storage Operator award.

Sustainability will remain at the core of our values, and our partnership with EQT strengthens Constellation’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions. With increased resources, we can invest more heavily in renewable energy projects, energy-efficient technologies and sustainability initiatives across our operations.
