Our Heritage in Germany

Constellation expanded into the German market through the acquisition of Spedition Wohlert and Wohlert Kühl Logistik, a family-founded business with more than 70 years of history.

Founded in 1950 by Willi Wohlert as a livestock trading and haulage company, the business was developed under the leadership of Hans-Joachim Wohlert to include temperature-controlled warehousing. In later years, Julia and Jörn-Peer Wohlert joined the family business, helping to transform it into a full-service partner for the food industry in Germany.

Over the past 15 years, the company has grown in both geographic reach and service offering, adding modern cold storage infrastructure, value-added services, and nationwide distribution. Joining Constellation marks the next phase of this development, increasing capacity for customers in Germany while maintaining a strong focus on customer commitment and operational excellence.

We have pioneered tempering and freezing technologies across the network for many years.

We provide high-capacity blast freezing services in specifically designed tunnels to minimise crystallisation and ensure superior product quality and safety.

We also offer cutting-edge, accelerated tempering for butter and other commodities, ensuring your product is safely defrosted.

We can provide these services for a variety of different product types, including standard palletised or boxed product, or specialised products such as hanging meat or unpackaged products.
