Denmark /24 September 2024Introducing Constellation Denmark: Our New Sites, Capacity and PlansThe addition of Agri-Norcold to our network opens up strategic opportunities in Denmark and strengthens Constellation’s leading position in the Nordics, where we already enjoy strong partnerships and growth opportunities with our customers in Norway and Sweden.Agri-Norcold’s long standing relationship with Danish Crown and several other meat, dairy, seafood and packaged food producers positions the company well for future growth. Denmark is one of the largest net exporters of food products in Europe, and this transaction will allow us to continue to grow with new customers, as well as many others that we already serve across the Constellation network. Carlos Rodriguez, Constellation CEOWe are thrilled to introduce Constellation Denmark, the latest addition to the Constellation Cold Logistics network following our acquisition of Danish cold storage provider Agri-Norcold. This strategic move marks our entry into the Danish market, significantly enhancing our presence and capabilities across the Nordic region.With this acquisition, we now operate 10 state-of-the-art facilities across Denmark, each offering unique services and strategic advantages that strengthen our cold storage and logistics offering, and adding over 266,000 new pallet positions to our network. Below, we introduce each site and its offerings.Aalborg – Greenland Harbor HubLocated at the Greenland Harbor in Aalborg East, this facility is a key gateway for export and import traffic, benefiting from its proximity to the E45 motorway. The Aalborg site is equipped with advanced cold storage systems, including large warehouses with self-propelled shelving. Its strategic location and modern infrastructure make it an essential node in our network, offering services such as cold storage, robotic sorting, container storage, order picking, and reloading. Additionally, Aalborg provides specialised services such as border control, crucial for managing the flow of goods across international boundaries.Aarhus – Hasselager and Tilst Dual FacilitiesThe Aarhus department, operating under joint management, comprises the Hasselager and Tilst facilities. These sites are designed to handle a wide range of cold storage needs, offering flexibility in temperature control and storage configurations. These facilities are integral to our operations in central Denmark, providing quick access to major transportation routes and serving as key points for further distribution across Denmark and beyond.Hobro – Modern High-Rise Cold StorageHobro’s facility is a modern high-rise warehouse, featuring both stationary and mobile shelving systems. In addition to its high-tech storage solutions, Hobro offers traditional bulk storage in separate rooms, allowing for the handling of diverse product types with varying temperature and stacking requirements. Positioned close to the E45 motorway, Hobro is ideally located for efficient transportation within Denmark and to neighbouring countries, making it a vital part of our logistics chain.Kolding – E45 Motorway LocationKolding is our second largest site, offering services such as blast freezing, pick and pack, thawing and cold storage. Our Kolding site is centrally placed by the motorway. The location near the E45 makes the site a central hub both for international transport and connects Jutland with Funen, Zealand and Sweden.Mors – Morsø Foodpark LocationSituated within the Morsø Foodpark, the Mors facility is strategically placed for export and import activities via the nearby harbour. The cold store is outfitted with both self-propelled shelving systems and traditional bulk storage, ensuring versatility in handling a variety of food products. The Mors site is designed to meet different temperature, stacking, and veterinary requirements, further enhancing its role in our network.Padborg – Gateway to Continental EuropeThe Padborg facility is strategically located near the Danish-German border, only a short drive from Hamburg. Padborg contains a state-of-the-art packaging facility, helping solve packaging tasks for customers with very large volumes.This site is a critical point for exports and imports between Denmark and continental Europe. Padborg features two advanced freezers with modern facilities for freezing and storing goods, alongside services such as reloading, freezer storage, and quick freezing, making it a pivotal hub for our operations in the region.Vejen – Northern Europe’s Largest Cold StoreVejen is home to Northern Europe’s largest cold storage facility, strategically located for optimal access to the motorway network. This site is a powerhouse in our network, offering extensive services including quick freezing, cold storage, order picking, reloading, plate freezing, and thawing. Its scale and capabilities make it a cornerstone of our logistics operations, supporting both domestic and international transport.Expanding HorizonsThe integration of these Danish facilities into our network aligns perfectly with Constellation’s ongoing expansion across the Nordics. Recent developments in Norway, such as the completion of the Tønsberg greenfield project and our partnership with Seafood Brands in Fredrikstad, demonstrate our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Looking ahead, our plans to expand in Sweden with a new facility in Rollsbo/Kungälv will further bolster our service offerings in the region.As Constellation Denmark joins our network, we are excited about the enhanced capabilities we can offer our customers.
