Agreement to acquire Vrieshuis Lagemaat

Constellation Cold Logistics strengthens presence in the Netherlands with the agreement to acquire Vrieshuis Lagemaat alongside CEO.

Nijkerk and London, 24 December 2021

Constellation Cold Logistics (“Constellation” or the “Platform”), a leading platform in European cold storage and logistics, announced today agreement for the acquisition of Vrieshuis Lagemaat (“Lagemaat” or the “Company”), partnering with Hendrik van Winkoop, to expand and strengthen the Company’s footprint and service offering for existing and new customers. Constellation is a portfolio company of Arcus Infrastructure Partners (“Arcus”), an independent fund manager with significant experience in European infrastructure investments.

Based in Nijkerk, Lagemaat is a recognised leader in cold storage, with a particular strength in blast freezing and value-added services to a diverse mix of protein producers, processors, and traders.  The acquisition strengthens Constellation’s Dutch offering.  Lagemaat joins Koel- en Vrieshuis Lintelo in the east of the Netherlands, to provide a combined storage capacity of almost 120,000 pallet spaces, with extensive blast freezing capacity, plus other value-added services.

The acquisition marks the seventh investment by Constellation and consolidates the platform’s position as a leading player in the European cold storage and logistics market. Including Lagemaat, Constellation now provides approximately 500,000 pallet positions of temperature-controlled storage capacity across its modern network footprint in the UK, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
